Someone left a few "Blond" Ales in my fridge. If I wanted to know exactly what "Columbus" hops hor "Citra" taste like, would this work? Was thinking dropping like 5 pellets in each and capping it and leave it a week. Or would it taste too green. Or is this a stupid idea?

Only beers I've had that were single hopped are Pale Ale (SN - Cascade) and two hearted (Centennial)

Also. Haven't capped a beer in like 7 years so that would be fun 😄 (not srs)

This is a process I have read about many times (though I could not find the right words to get Google to pull up any good articles). I have been thinking about doing it myself lately, but mostly because I want to justify the $9 for come clear re-cappable Corona bottles. Just keep in mind that this would give you an idea of what flavors the hops provides in a dry hop addition, but not as much as a hot side addition.

5 pellets seems like more than would be needed. At a "1 oz hops per gal beer" rate you would need 0.094 oz (or 2.7 grams) per 12 oz bottle.

Edit: I found this: Dry Hopped Bud Light – Bertus Brewery Maybe 5 pellets is not a bad count.

I ( non scientific opinion ) think the pellets would create nucleation points for C02 to release and every time you opened one there’d be foam everywhere. But try it and let us know if it does happen.
