This is for those of us who see that sticker, "No serviceable parts inside", as a challenge. Those of us too cheap to buy another or pay for a repair. When we need it to work like right now. If MacGyver is your hero. If you can trace your lineage directly to Red Green.

My Hoover Floormate quit putting out cleaner. The pump works. The tube was clogged at the end somewhere. Well, they don't let you get to the end where it comes out. Okay. It comes out now. :tank:

Well yeah that's me all over.I'm basically Emmet from the Andy Griffith Show. Steve's fixit shop.

Is that an IPA you have coming down the line? Only tried Miller Lite to clean my carpets.

Best reason ever to buy Bud:

Buddy bought a Karman Ghia. Got it home and we went for a ride. The radiator hose split and overheated. We walkes to the country store about a mile away where they let you drink a beer inside while we decide what to do. They sold us a couple of Bud master cylinders and two hose clamps. Drank the beers to cool off and we were back in business momentarily

Seems like you could get into that part that's clogged. Maybe you didn't pry hard enough?

I love fixing things. I love coming up with a solution, even if it's not the "right" solution get something going.

Bought a nice little Shop-Vac at a yard sale for $2. Guy said the motor was shot, but it might make a nice container or something. Took it home, took it apart and found the brushes were disconnected from the motor. Must have come loose or burned off.

Went to the store and bought new brushes and some crimp-on wire connectors and reconnected the brushes and now have a like-new shop-vac for less than $4 total. Came in handy when running the dunk tank in the High School Cafeteria the past couple of years!

Not sure if this counts, but I once had a water pump belt break on my car. This was in AZ during summer & I still had 40 miles left to drive before I got home. I stopped & bought 4 pairs of pantyhose & tied a pair onto the pulleys. It wasn't perfect & it took all 4 pair, but I got home without the car overheating. And I learned that a pair of pantyhose will last 10 miles.
Regards, GF.

I fix all kinds of things at work, people here think I'm a genius. They definitely didn't take all their toys apart when they were little. If a knob falls off, that is no reason to trash a piece of equipment.
