Adapted from Avery's recipes for home brewers.

I converted to liquid partial mash, and rounded malts to the ounce and hops to the half ounce.

IBU: 40.5 calculated

Primary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 14 days @ 68F
Bottle conditioned: 21 days
First taste 7 March 2015

45 minutes steep at 155F
11 oz Honey (Gambrinus)
11 oz Cara 45 (Dingemans)
6 oz Cara 8 (Dingemans)
5 oz Carafa III dehusked (Weyermann)
4 oz Chocolate (Briess Organic)
4 oz Belgian Debittered Black

60 minute boil
12 lbs Light Malt Syrup (Northern Brewer Organic)
1.0 oz Magnum (60 min)
1.0 oz Magnum (30 min)
0.5 oz Hallertau (0 min)
0.5 oz US Sterling (0 min)

Honey and Carafa III from Just Tap'd, the rest from Northern Brewer.

I know it's been years.... but I'm bringing this back to quickly ask if you ever went further on refining this recipe? It looks really really close to all the literature provided by Avery and what people have done on Brewer's Friend. Did you find the hops scaled correctly and the roast malts to be in proportion?
