My one faucet just started a very slight drip after pouring a pint. I know that it's "forward sealing" so I'm wondering what the best way is to fix this drip. Can anybody explain it very slowly and carefully to me? I'm not the least bit "mr. fix-it" type.

Thanks!

+1060 to the Pennicilan

I had this happen one week. Pissed my perlick was failing or at minimum needed a new o-ring or something... I tore it down and found a hop leaf (several) in the faucet.

May be worth the look.... since then when something like this starts to happen I can usually tap the handle closed and it seals better... I take this as a sign I need to clean the tap....

Yeah, I got the 525's and they seem kinda sloppy. Maybe they need to be adjusted? Sometimes, 12psi is enough for them to start pouring on their own when I hook them up to a fresh keg.

525 and 575(creamer) are pretty much identical except for the push bach creamer function which is built into the ball.

i haven't had any problems with my 2 525's, but i don't handle them roughly and they don't have huge, heavy tap handles on them.

My 575's have dripped on occasion, but it was generally when I hooked something with really high pressure up to them by accident (higher than 15 psi.) I've found that if I fiddle with the knobs on top they generally get to the correct tightness that I they still pull perfectly but they dont leak (even above 15 psi.)

Please take a moment of silence for the beer that I lost during this process....

I don't know the model, but I've had them about a year. They've been perfect, until about three days ago. Now, one faucet drips after pouring a pint. I guess I'll have to take it apart, but I was hoping for an easy "how to" do that.

I say clean it first and inspect the o-ring. It could just be a bit of hop or yeast gunk that made it's way i out of the keg.

If you taking it apart/cleaning doesn't help, i'd email perlick. They have been very helpful and answer promptly in my experience.

That link helped, thanks! I couldn't get the o-ring off from just unscrewing the spout, but there was a bit of build up on the top of inside of the spout where it touches the o-ring. I need to break them down for a full cleaning after these kegs are gone, I guess. It's about time, anyway.

Up until now, I've never done anything with them. They've been perfect, and I'm thrilled I got them instead of cheaper faucets. They've been worth it!

a dental pick gets orings out perfectly without damage. the o-ring that would cause the leak is on the shaft.

+1 thats the correct oring. HOwever I bet after cleaning it and upon inspection , it wont need replacing. They are super easy to take apart. The nut below the tap handle nut holds everything in place. Once you remove the entire lever by pulling up, the shaft inside just slide out. Clean with a brush or soak in oxy. then rinse and reassmble.

I had a bad pour, and in process of trying to fix it and cleaned my lines and both Perlicks. They come apart very easily and are pretty simple devices. Not much to go wrong with them.

I did find a fair amount of gunk in one of mine, which was because I pulled a kicked keg, but had not got around to flushing the line. Still had plenty of sediment in there.

Which reminds me that a keg kicked yesterday, and I already forgot to flush the line again...

fyi, if your spout unscrews from your faucet, it's a 425.

425 - detachable spout, forward sealing
525 - one-piece body, (no detachable spout), forward sealing
575 - one piece body, (no detachable spout), forward sealing, creamer option.

Unfortunately, I own none, and can't help you. Love the new avatar though!
