Hey eveyone
Over the last few months I have had a few different imperial stouts, some from Hoppin' Frog and others, and most of them are DORIS or TORIS, so Double or Triple Oatmean Russian Imperial Stouts.
Now I have been wondering what a triple mash is. It's not a triple decoction mash or anything like that from what I can read.
So does anyone here know what the technique here is?
Do you make a regular mash, run off the wort and pour the fresh wort onto a "dry" grain bed, and start a new mash? I my head that would result in horrible efficiency. Or is it a 3 different mashes poured together in the boil?
Hope someone knows a little about this
