Aside from a couple work lunches, I haven't been to B-Dubs in several years. The sauces are good, but the wings themselves are dinky, the beers overpriced, and the noise level overpowering.

Back during one of my crappy summer jobs at a concert venue, my buddy and I used to stop there after work to unwind. We accidentally discovered that ordering a certain meal (I think it was a chicken tender/potato wedge basket with a soft drink) rang up to $6.66. The first time it happened, the server freaked out and went on a bizarre rant about a bunch of superstitious stuff that had happened to her recently. But, she refused to charge the full amount, so I made a point of ordering the same thing for the rest of that summer.

I don't know if someone else mentioned this, I'm too lazy to read the whole thread, but they sell their sauce at the door. And it's not to expensive either, $3.50 around me. I recommend buying two bottles of your favorite, mine tends to disappear. Just fry up wings, burgers, hot dogs, sausages or whatever else tickles your pickle and slather the sauce on it. The best part, I think, is enjoying some faux BWW and getting to drink my own beer for pennies on the dollar.

I went again, and saw they had Samuel Adams Octoberfest. Jackpot! I ordered it.

They gave me a cup which contained:
1). 30% Samuel Adams Octoberfest;
2). 65% Tap Water;
3). And 5% Grenadine, for sweetness.

It was terrible. Fortunately, I have not been compelled to return since.

What? That can't be true. Did you watch them pour it? BWW's, aside from the price, is decent. Sometimes, the boneless wings aren't saucy enough, but other than that, I think you've had some bad experiences, or that BWW's is just a sh!ttily run place.

We have them around here in Nova. Every area has at least one. The food is ok. I dig how you can make your own sandwich and put whatever you want on it. They play all the out of market games too which can be pretty cool.

Their beer selection makes me laugh though. They have about 20 taps but it's all mostly big commercial crap. They sometimes have DFH 60 minute but the best you can usually hope for is a Sam Adams of some sort. From the outside it looks like a good sports beer bar but once you actually sit down and look at what they have on tap it's disappointing. Just another corporate machine chain ran by kids that functions strictly by what's on the menu. Around here that's pretty normal but there are many better places to go on any given afternoon/evening. However, when we're out of town and see one at least we have an idea at what we're going to get and we get to see our hometown team play.

We have a local one that's close to one of our hockey rinks so every Friday after we skate we head over for some liquid refreshments and a bite to eat. Service is horrible and that's on a good night. Place can be dead but it still takes forever to get seated, place an order and then get the order. Most guys will just hit the bar and take their drinks to the table which is faster. Sadly enough, it's the best option for us at that time of night for food and beer so we tend to suck it up and make the best of it. One guy did rip into the Manager a few weeks ago and service was better the following week, but dropped off again the week after. When you do get the food, it's ok. Beer selection is decent even though they've been out of Bells for about a month now but it's still on the menu.

I love me some B dubs... Mango Habenaro wings all day. The majority of the taps at my local ones carry local craft beer, so its a win win in my book.

Chicago area BW3s carry some draft craft beers, I think they have a session IPA this month on special. I've also been to one at an airport, Atlanta? and I remember (barely) having a tough time deciding between several craft offerings. Most of the food is fried, but there are a couple grilled type sandwiches that are good for a quick meal.

BW3's are all run independently afaik so you will get different experiences wherever you go when it comes to service. There are couple here in Indy I frequent. One sucks, the other is awesome.

As far as beer goes, I find of the 25-30 taps they have, most are BMC and 'fake' craft like Blue Moon etc... They usually have maybe 3-4 beers that are good crafts.

My local BW3 has 30 taps, and I'd say only half of them are your typical BMC fare. A quarter might be BMC "craft" (like Blue Moon or Shock Top) but the last 7-8 are all true craft beer, with 3-4 of them local.

I do love being able to get a nice Red Oak on tap - I don't like paying $6 for it, though...

Oh, for a review - I have only been there once to eat (a few times, friends & I went to the bar for beers only) and service time was acceptable, the waitress was very friendly and checked on me a few times throughout the meal. Never once was my mouth full of food when she came by, either.

(Usually, this is me when the wait-person comes by.)

The wings weren't the biggest, but they were hot, tender, and tasty. I think I spent $20 on wings, a beer, and the tip.

I'm gonna go back, as it's 5 minutes away.

:)
