He gonna label you the PARARARARABOLA guy of lambic. . .

But CuveeReneneneneneen . . . (side note, my fave nickname for Renes is Renaked)

In all seriousness, I'm going to make a fledgling attempted refute at the power and insight that is DDB. . .

SNPA
Parabola
Breakfast Stout
Cuvee Rene Gueuze/Kriek
Anderson Valley Gose
Apex Predator/Fierce

Make standing in line/using fedex bux seem like a poor use of time/money generally.

Unfortunately, PARARABOLEAR isn't turding up shelves round these parts (Los Angeles). Still some decent turds to get a reasonable BA fix though... Black Xantus, Big Bad Baptist off the top of my dome anyway.

agreed, i never see any pearbolos down here, or when I do it's in the stupidest/most random locations with no rhyme or reason.

I stopped in Boyle Heights for gas and there were like 6 bottles turding it up there months after release, but I was in no mood for paying retail for beer at the time so I left them.

Duvel keeping us in diamonds and furs

BEER REVEUWER HUMBLBRAG
not even, havent you ever felt pangs of guilt like "how the **** can I justify spending any money on beer right now with what I have at home already to drink"

no? you're just that reasonable, nothing else, 2-3 bottles in the fridge type of guy?

FINE JUST ME THEN

Beer is meant for consumption and discussion, organically fostering some of the best possible moments amongst friends and family. Those vignettes of gentle repose, beyond the reach of competition or feelings of inadequacy, the fleeting foam a gentle analog to life itself, ever cascading upward to a destructive change in form, becoming something greater than the sum of its simple components. That is the essence of classic ales and innovative libations, ensconced outside the ambit of covetous carrion grips, transcending to a realm that modifies the social experience lieu of supplanting it.

Pilgrim at ticker creek

Those meandering clauses, paper thin structured metaphors that bend and curve and an abrupt shift to second person voice to engage the reader with forced exigency and meaning. I do all them wheelies and parlor tricks, next week I'll roll out some scherzo Delillo beat with punchy concrete imagery draped over a commentary on waste. Clicking snaps on the backbeat while the fretless bass completes the progression.

I've been out of college too long to understand this on the first or second read-through. I should start reading books again.

Someone made a show about hunting massive whales, like KBS...you know, like those unobtainable life altering beers that you can barely find in the grocery store and Walgreens.

Real top tier, well-researched, high concept investigative journalism here.

If someone is making this I'd like to request a Pawn Stars knock off in which down on their luck hoarders bring in bottles from their cellars to have appraised and sell. "Oh you have a KBS vertical to sell? Can you hang around for a bit? I have a guy who specializes in over the hill coffee stouts that can give me an idea of what these are worth."

Hahhaha oh man I went back to see the official cicerone opinions on casking and wood profiles, I love that a speculative thread four pages long about a beer, didn't have a single person comment who had actually tried the beer. People with no experience rehashing other people's experience with a cool detached appraisal by proxy. Excellent commentary.

I guess if island of the blue Dolphins is the last book you read then it must feel pretty edifying to write off DDB as self indulgent.

Masturbatory writing? That makes me feel better about masturbating when I read it.
I like to keep my copy of the Longman Handbook for Writing handy for times like this, and it doesn't seem to include the Masturbatory Style.
