Donation from neighbor

So my neighbor has several established cascade plants. Several extra bines growing out into his yard. He just mows them to control them.
I say "Can I have that so you don't need to mow it back?"

I grabbed a pot with soil and covered the shoot with soil leaving a few leaves above the soil. I formed a circle around the edge of the pot.

Placed it on the deck in a corner and left it a couple of weeks.

I will be moving out it of the pot to my new hops garden.

He'll definitely be mowing them some day. To quote Cousin Eddie hops are "the gift that keeps on giving", they'll take over your whole yard if you let them.
