The soup was meat based, cow, but my dog prefers chicken/or any type of poultry. So I went to set my bowl of soup down, damn thing spilled. So I called my dog back to my craft room, not my shed, the craft room inside the house. He would not enter, I had to keep calling him over, calling him over, look... the meaty soup I just spilled. See, at least he knows that my craft room and my shed for that matter, are hands off. Do not enter.... go away... you are not welcome... but why don't other people understand?

Well, my dog's not a people, but if he can understand, and he's just a dog, why can't other people understand? If you aren't invited, don't come in, and even if you are invited... enter with care and tremor while you are licking up the spilled soup. Then leave when you are done. No wonder I feel so lonely... Tough life.

Is it wrong of me to just want my own space? Damn, even the dog knows...

I don't have a "private" space in my house.
My daughter is seven and she understands things like where she should be and shouldn't be.
My friends understand when they come over. Go straight to the patio with the BBBQ and beer, head to the garage or head to the bar.

My dogs, they don't understand jack!
The cat on the other hand understands that if it steps through the door, it may fly back out.

I think my dog understands that thing your cat knows.... Animals can be pretty intuitive sometimes....

And sorry to hear you don't have a place to call your own, but sounds like you actually might....

With just my daughter and I, I don't need private space the same as when you have lots of people in a house.
For the most part my house is a man cave, some parts more so than others.
As far as I'm concerned anything that I'm interested in, my daughter is more than welcome to participate in.

My daughter is interested in whatever I'm doing. So, she adds the hops and pitches the yeast. She wants to bottle but I don't think she can operate the capper yet

That's not even a dog. You gotta get yourself a lab or something.
