Does anyone speak Arabic?

Or write Arabic? I'm trying to teach myself but I would enjoy having someone who speaks it help me out of just have conversations with the little amounts I learn at a time.

Well hopefully this numerous humorous attention will get some real speakers in here
And I want to learn it because I like the way it looks written and I enjoy learning languages, I can say a few sentences in German ( thanks to Rosetta stone ) lol and I didn't want to drop like 400$ on Arabic Rosetta stone so I bought a 20$ 10 minutes a day book and have been working from that every other day or so

If you want simple phrases checkout your phone apps. I have a droid and Babelfish has a bunch of languages where you can type or speak in the phrase and it will reply with pronounciation and spelling. I'm sure they have certain arabic languages. I was pretty amazed. It jogged my memory from High School French.

Check out a website called livemocha.com

The site will network you with native speakers of a language so when you complete lessons they will be reviewed by people that speak Arabic and can give you helpful feedback. Most of the site is free as well, you just have to participate by reviewing lessons by people that are trying to learn English. After reviewing a few dozen lessons I unlocked all of the lessons i wanted for learning German.

Easiest way to learn arabic is to become a Muslim and actually attend mosque the 6 times a day. As'salaam alikum.

I read an amusing story once, not sure how true it is though. A businessman had to meet with a group of Japanese investors and figured if he could learn some Japanese he would impress them so he took some lessons. He found a teacher, a woman, and did very well and was able to communicate somewhat and was ready for the meeting. When he got up and introduced himself in Japanese they all broke out laughing. Not because they could not understand him or he got the words wrong or made funny sentences but because he spoke like a woman.

Probably not true but funny all the same.

Look who isn't keeping up. Rosetta Stone "can" be much cheaper if you know where to look.

I once read about the dangers of drinking. So I stopped reading.

Seriously tho', the easiest, oft cheapest, and most successful way to learn a language is through cultural immersion.

I've been married 14 years to a Malay girl. And thanks to that 14 years of multi-lingual experience I now recogionize when I am being cursed at in 4 diffrent languages.

I work IT and have a co worker that learned Arabic to blow the minds of overseas tech support. Blew my mind when he started spouting that out.
