These are growing on a tree in my yard and I’m unsure what type they are/whether they are suitable For making cider. I thought they were crabapples but am unsure if they can get this big! They are about 3 inches across of it helps.
I have a couple of crabapple trees that produce that size fruit. The ornamental ones have little hard ones, but the kind we grow for eating are the size of small apples.
I can't tell the variety, but if they taste pretty good with a bit of a "bite", they will likely make good cider. I use a mix of sharp, bittersharp, bittersweet, etc to get a good mix.
Hey Yooper! Thanks, I have little classic crabs in the back and will be able to use those too. They taste a bit chalky now so I assume they´ll be better later.
