Does a "tri-clamp ferrule welding spud" exist?

Alright so bear with me here. I want to apply a ferrule to the bottom of a keg for the heating element, so i have the option to replace the element depending on whether I want to use 240 or 120. I cannot weld but I can silver solder, and I've have had success with welding spuds.

I've looked around but cannot find what I have in mind. Is there such a thing as a piece that has a 2" ferrule on one end and a welding spud on the other end? Something like the two pictures combined below (no pipe thread needed)

If there's no such thing as the above combination, how does this sound....a 2" female NPT welding spud + a 2" male NPT to 2" ferrule piece. (the 2 pictures below)

Do you think the second set up would get in the way of a wavy element. Thanks for everything. This community's the bomb. I wouldn't be brewing without this site.

Grrrr, I'm pretty sure I've seen one and can't remember where. It might have been at a distilling web store. I look around and get back to you.

Wow that's perfect and 1.5" works just fine. I thought there might be something out there! Thanks!

Out of curiosity, do you know if it the curved backside of the spud is completely flat? ....or is there and 90* ridge that helps the spud sit in the drilled hole like these:

I don't know. I just remembered that Bobby offered what you asked about.

Brew on :mug:

It has a 'radius face' which means it's curved to fit the pot better. There's a video here of him installing one.

perfect that's everything i needed to know and more. I guess I was asking about the "boss" he was talking about at 32sec.

That boss type of spud I've installed is much easier. Just scruff up the surfaces, flux the surfaces, lay down a ring of silver solder around the hole, put the spud on top lined up, heat the spud and then it sinks into place as the solder melts, then let it cool. Same solder and flux of course. I'm excited to try this one though.

Alright one last question. Do you think grounding a metal enclosure that touches the tri-clamp, which touches ferrule, which is soldered to the keg would ground the keg or do I need to attach the ground wire directly to the keg skirt in order to ground the keg?
