No word from gclay. He last checked in 10/04/11 but I did discover that he posted in April that he was giving away his homebrew things becuase Dr.'s said he couldn't drink anymore. Alcohol with his new meds were seriously bad.

Thanks Rhoads! That's jerk pork, such damn good marinade.

That's a lucky dog, getting a nice plate of jerk pork and a good beer to wash it down with... :)

My lab is jealous of that pic.

Glad you liked it. I'm trying to convince my wife that we should jerk the turkey next week.

One of the best turkeys I've ever made was a deep fried turkey that I injected with jerk marinade.

Sounds delicious. Maybe I should jerk the turkey and get my hands on more of that 5 vultures, pour it in a can and stuff it in the turkey. I'm doing Thanksgiving dinner this year so you know that beer will be involved.

We made jerk turkey burgers with the marinade. Turned out great. Thanks again.

Packages went out today via Parcel Post. Based on most dates, I expect them to arrive prior to Thanksgiving.

Just tried one of the spiced cherry dubbels, and it's a decent beer. Good tart cherry flavors, spice on the finish. Has a honeylike undertone that I'm attributing to the 2 lbs of piloncillo. Still green, looking forward to trying again in a couple weeks.

I made good that I brewed my gingerbread ale anyway just not shipping any out. Having the FG sample right now. It's fantastic. It's going to be a nice treat for friends and Familly and the local homebrewers. Thanks for the idea to do it at least.

Step 1: Brew the beer. Check!
Step 2: Bottle the beer. Check!
Step 3: Box the beer. Check!
Step 4: Ship the beer. I have to wait until the driveway is paved. I share the driveway with my neighbor and he dedided to do work on it (without warning me first) and I'm trapped in the house all day and work at night, so unfortunately I'll have to wait until the driveway is done (or when its raining and the workers don't show up) to actually go to UPS and ship the beer.

In my opinion the Berry Lambicky Ale Ver. 2.0 tastes much better than the Ver. 1.0. You can start drinking those right away. You're going to want to age the Gingersnap Ale because it's still a bit green and the ginger needs to mellow out more.

Do we have any formal plans to set up a nightly tasting and review?

I had been thinking of nightly taste and post the 11 days leading up to Christmas, but I'm going to be out of town (and unable to bring the bottles with me - damn you TSA!) a couple days, and that will provide me, at least, with some interruption. I guess there are also some others who will be out of town those dates as well, based on some of the 'blackout' dates for shipping...

I'm was also thinking that we could individually make our comments on each beer then forward them by PM or e-mail to the brewer who would be responsible for making a single post with the 10 comments, and maybe their own thoughts on the brew as well. This would prevent a lot of random jumping around in the thread, and keep the comments on each beer in one place. The more I think about it, I think this may be the best way...certainly open to other suggestions too...

EDIT: Oh, and I did indeed ship...some of you should be getting your boxes as soon as next Monday...

I'm shipping on the 30th unfortunately due to money issues, if you need them by a certain date let me know, I'll get them there by then.

As for beer reviews, I'm cool with whatever.

I like biochemedic's idea of pming the reviews and post later.

Good news! I just sent out the packages so you will be receiving them soon. I'll pm the tracking #s later. :)

Having a little trouble reading the details but I can make out the title Big Game Big Beer Dinner. That sounds awesome and right up my ally. I hope you enjoyed it, I would live to find something like that around here.

Just received my Quad! :rockin:

It was my surprise birthday present. It was a big game and big beer dinner in Northampton, Mass (1.5 hr drive from home). The menu was:

Kangaroo Soup paired with Uinta Detour Double IPA

Boars in a Blanket paired with Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Barleywine '09

Game Platter containing Bison Short Ribs, Alligator Pot Pie with Venison Andouille, Ostrich Wellington in Duck Liver Pate, Fried Veal Testicles, Beans simmered in Rabbit Sausage and Pumpkin Smashed Potatoes paired with Lagunitas Hairy Eyeball Ale

Bacon Pecan Cinnamon Buns paired with Bourbon Barrel Aged Wormtown Beer Goggles Barleywine

Everything was awesome and delicious, EXCEPT for the fried veal testicle...YUCK! :cross:

I like tasting new food/beer and this was just one of the greatest birthday presents ever. I will definitely keep an eye out for more activities like these.

On a side note: I'm glad I work nights because I had a hard time getting out of bed today. The smallest beer had 9% alcohol and I drank double portions because my wife was driving. :drunk:

Yeah the only thing that meal is missing is the nap. I could make out the Buffalo Trace Barrels and knew it would be good but I have never heard of Wormtown Beer Goggles.

All the beer was great. If I were to choose my favorite out of the four it would be the Uintas IIPA. But then again, I'm an IPA gal :)

Well everything is packed and will be shipped tomorrow. I'll work on getting tracking info out tomorrow night.

Get your secret decoder ring that says more than "Drink your Ovaltine". On the 1st post I will put the beer identifiers by each beer so you can remember which beer is which.

Nice to see I got a bigger paycheck than I was expecting. :)

I'll be shipping out my portion this weekend, after the Thanksgiving chaos has subsided.

Well all the old fruitcake ale is in the mail. I wasn't able to get tracking numbers but the packages should be there in the next 2 weeks.

Xcorpia, so far you win in the presentation category. :) I plan on shipping out the spiced Dunkel Wiezen next week some time. I am force carbing it in the keg and it is not where I want it yet. :mug:

My wife is really getting into this, she's excited to tell me what beers we've received so far!

Had intended to get mine out last weekend, but it didn't happen. They'll go out this weekend, so look for a box of spiced cherry marinade! :)

You'll also be getting a box of Honey Ginger Marinade. Lol
