Do we have to let active oxygen dry completely....even if it takes half a day?

Anyone out there who uses active oxygen (hydrogene peroxide) as a sanitizer? NOTE: I am mainly talking about chemipro OXI.

I have a very high concentration one (3-4 minutes contact sanitizes equipment) and I am wondering if you guys let the washed equipment drain overnight? Or is it okay if it doesnt dry completely?

Doesn't it just break down into water and oxygen (2 H2O2 -> 2 H2O + O2)? I don't use it, but I can't see a little residual liquid on the carboy posing much of an issue.

Maybe I am wrong and someone who uses it can clarify though?

Hydrogen peroxide can be used as mouthwash and for cuts and is even used as an injected therapy. I'm not sure what it would do to flavor, but it shouldn't hurt you at all... Don't take my word tho.

I do wonder now... Since it breaks down to water and oxygen, could it be used to oxenegate wort?

There is another thread here-abouts that asks about Chemipro and off flavors in his beer. He did not dry his equipment as spec sheet suggests. Query Chemipro for responses.

Chemipro isn't straight hydrogen peroxide though, it says it also contains sodium carbonate. I'm not saying you shouldn't rinse H2O2 (I don't use it and don't know for sure, like I said before), I'm just saying it isn't the same as what the OP is intending to use and may have different instructions for use.

Unionrdr knows my problem....that's why he mentioned Chemipro Oxi....I thought it was purely hydrogen peroxide and yes, it is chemipro I am about to use.

By the way....where did you see it contains sodium carbonate too? Sodium carbonate is simple NaCl, isnt it?

It said it on the page unionrdr linked to. And no, it is not NaCl (Sodium Chloride, or table salt). It is Na2CO3.

No, that's sodium chloride (table salt).

Sodium carbonate would be Na+ CO3- (or something like that...long time since chemistry...).
