Different fermentations all smell the same

Hello,

I am fermenting my 4th batch now. An ipa.
I was just curious, all 4 brews have been different hops, malts and yeast. However, they all have smelled the same when fermenting, a nice sweet sort of floral scent.

Is this common? Is this the smell of fermentation?

From my experience, yes. Fermenting beer has a unique smell. I love it..I sniff my airlocks regularly

Just remember the same yeast you use will give off more interesting aroma's when under stress.

Sulfur, feet, banana, clove type aromas from not enough oxygen or under pitching the amount of yeast.
All I am saying is to not hit the freek out button if the aroma from fermentation is different.
