Is there a big difference between using fresh berries versus frozen berries for wine? Or any noticable difference?

Any fruit that I will be making wine with I freeze first. When it freezes the ice penetrates the cell walls and will give you a greater juice yield.

I've made a few fruit wines already. I have not frozen any of the fruits first yet. It is certainly something I have been thinking about doing.

doing a couple of freeze thaw cycles can greatly increase the amount of juice you extract from your berries. If you pitch the berries while they're frozen it may take awhile for the yeast to start eating away at them as you could very well drop the temperature of your must below the yeasts comfort zone. But that's the only "negative" impact.
