Well, I made a starter today for the first time. 1000ml erl flask, with about 700ml or so of wart in it. I used about 4 oz of DME.... Well, when I cooled it and pitched the yeast, nothing really was going on after several hours. I decided to give it a good shake.. Trying to decide the best way to do this, I decided to seel it with some plastic wrap, to keep from making a mess. I pulled the cork off, wrapped the top in plastic, and I gave it a good shake, and then put the cork back in, and went on my way.

Then it just dawned on me that I didn't sanitize the saran first.... Which was probably a mistake. Should I be concerned about this, and dump the starter, and make another batch?

The problem is, the LHBS is over an hour from here. And I don't have any more yeast.

This is a rather high gravity beer, and therefor I have a lot of money tied up in ingredients...

Thoughts?

That was my thought as well, its about 70* in my house right, now so it may just be a little cool. or I could have gotten a bad yeast... I wrapped in it a towel and sat it in a sunny spot for a few to try to bring the temperatures up a bit, to see if I can get some bubbling.... I will let you all know how it goes. Its been YEARS since I brewed last. So I am sure I will screw up a bunch of stuff. Haha
