I liked the fact that Dexters girlfriend in the first couple of seasons went from a no chest wonder to a busty wench and no one congratulated her on her successful surgery. Or is it just me noticing things that aren't there?

Just watched the 1st episode. Very cool. I'm hooked. Here we go. I love the premise. Main actor is offputting but cool.

It was a tossup between starting this and a few other series I have here. Need to do something to fill the evenings between now and next GOT season.

Anyway, I din't read this thread, and I don't think I'll be back for at least a few seasons.

I enjoyed the first season a lot, but the show went downhill pretty quickly for me.

I ended up sticking with it until season 7 where I completely lost interest in the show after the first couple episodes.

First season is still one of my favorite shows. After that it quickly goes down hill, and everything after S4 is not worth watching. Stuck with it because Wife wanted too, but we both agree the last couple seasons are some of the worst TV we've watched, and by-far the worst finale we've sat through.

I think we Netflix'ed the 1st season in a weekend and jumped right in after that. The last couple seasons were frustrating, to say the least.

The books...meh. I think I read 3 of them. They didn't didn't build suspense the way the show did.

The Trinity killer season was my favorite, season 3 I think. It was down hill after that.

[Edit]
Correction, season 4 was the Trinity killer season.

I'm still angry about the finale, and angry with myself for sticking it out until the end!

Here's my rant from earlier in the thread where someone said, "I gotta see this through"

You might think that, but if you're hoping for an ending or any kind of resolution, you won't get it.

Seriously.

Just stop after season 5.

Seriously.

If you disregard our warnings and continue to watch season 6, get to the end, and then think "OMG, this is going to get awesome again!" Please keep in mind that it won't, in fact, do that, it continues its downslide.

Seriously.

If you disregard that warning, and watch season 7 because "I must be wrong, it has to get awesome again", you'll see I was right. You may think to yourself, "Well that sucked, but I've watched it this far, I'll watch the last season because I want to see how this story plays out", just keep in mind that it doesn't have an actual ending or any kind of resolution.

So anyway, don't waste 36 hours of your life, just stop watching after season 5.

Seriously.

I'm probably one of the only people that found the finale refreshing. It didn't end how it was "supposed" to end. But I do understand why people were frustrated with it.

Seasons 1-4 are so strong that they still stand on their own. They could easily have ended the series after 4. Season 3 is weaker than 1, 2 and 4 but phenomenal.

If you aren't going to stick through all 8 seasons, then just stop after 4 and pretend that's how it ends.

I've read 4 or 5 of the books. Very different from the show, especially after the 1st book. I actually liked the ending of book 1 better than the end of season 1 but I understand why they changed it for TV. It would have been even more morally ambiguous if they ended it like the book.

I started this last year and got the wife hooked. Solid show. I, too, found the end "lacking"... Overall, I give it a good watch.

One of the best shows if you ignore the season with jimmy smitts and pretend the show was suddenly cancelled one season earlier. The books lack the ability to be read...

Worked through 8 seasons, and oddly quite 2 episodes from the end. It's how I eat sometimes, gobble everything and leave the last fry on the plate.

Anyway, daughter convinced me to watch the ending of the series, so here I go...
