Good evening everyone!

A buddy of mine helped me figured out a recipe for the Deschutes brewery armory xpa(experimental pale ale). It is one of the best beers I've ever had. Not super hoppy but many delicious and aromas.

Deschutes was kind enough to put their ingredient list on their site, so hats off to them.

5gal batch
IBU: 58
OG: 1.063
FG: 1.018
Est ABV:5.9%

9.5 lbs 2 Row
2 lbs Crystal 60
.75 oz nugget hops(60 min)
.75 oz northern brewer hops(60 min)
.5 oz centennial(5 min)
.5 oz cascade(5 min)
.5 oz citra(5 min)

1 pkg Nottingham ale yeast.

Primary one week
Secondary two weeks(ish)

It's in secondary now, I will update with how it turned out once it's done!

Happy to be on the forums!

-Trevor

2lbs of crystal 60 seems like a lot for a pale ale.
Never has this beer before. Maybe well balanced. Interested how it turns out.

Yeah, it's not very pale right now. I'm curious to see how it affects the taste.

So I just kegged it and am in the process of carbing it right now. It turned out brilliantly. It's almost exactly the original beer. The gravity was spot on, as well as the color. The only thing wrong is the bitterness. It doesn't have quite the right bite but I believe that was an issue stemming from me messing up the brewing process a bit.
