Hi Frits,

a friend also wants a sack of Patagonia Extra Pale and split a sack of Pale Pearl with me.

Thus, please add

1X Patagonia Extra Pale

and change the backup Pale Pearl to ordering it in addition.

Thus my total whole sack order is

2X Patagonia Extra Pale
1X Pale Pearl
1X Château Pilsen 2-Row

Thank you and sorry for the last minute change.

paid for my 2 sacs.

Frits, regarding splits: it is not looking likely that my Bavarian Wheat DME split is going to close. do you want me to pay for my share under the assumption it will close and you can refund me later if it doesn't? or should i only pay you for what is certain (i.e. closed splits), and hold off on the Wheat DME portion?

Added.

Link sent, check pm.

Just looked at your track. Holy Moses! People really run 100 miles? The idea alone makes me wanna puke.
You'll need some good beer after that!

Thanks! Yes I've done several 100 milers and 24 hour timed events. And yes there is puking involved and beer after! This will be my first (only?) foray into multiday events. 48 hours vs 24 will be a new adventure. I'm actually thinking I will have a couple of beers in the middle, hold the tequila though...

Cheers!
Steve

Dang! That's a really good question.

Some have paid me already including splits that are still open. I knew there was something critical that won't work well with 2 rounds of payment/ordering.

Yes, only pay this 1st round for what is certain or looks like it will make it by next week. I'll refund the prepayments that don't fill with next week's order. There's gonna be some double work involved, sorry!

I adjusted the order. That's Munton's Pale Pearl - MUN 1003, right?
If the Patagonia is still unavailable, any substitutions or just drop those?

I'd like to place one more grain bag order for

1x WEY1017 Weyermann® Light Munich 25 Kg (55 Lb.).

I have 15lbs of this in the split. I'd be happy to continue on that split, but if anyone would like to take my 15 lbs, I'd now prefer to grab something from another split. But only if this isn't totally confusing and really messes something up.

Better you than me. Just be safe, please, 24h looks grueling enough. Double that, back to back is just nutz! Those beers are certainly well deserved, and they better be good.

Added the sack of Light Munich.

Removed your 15# from the Light Munich split.
If that one doesn't fill, maybe you're willing to retake the balance. I'm sure that will be very appreciated.

Current Status:
56 sacks, 8 of those are open splits with 205# to go.
Please try to fill those open splits in the next week or so.

Light Munich - This is an open split again, 15# available.

Correct, Munton's Pale Pearl - MUN 1003. And yes, correct, if the Patagonia is still unavailable, no substitute order, thank you.

I will take the 15 # or whatever else is left if it does not close on its own.

I'll take 5# of GAM1051 Gambrinus Honey 25 kg (55 lb) Split closing that one out.

I'll take 15# of the RAH1008 Rahr White Wheat.

Thanks for being accommodating.

Both added.
Thanks for offering to take the Lt. Munich balance at the end.

frits, please increase my share of the Bavarian Wheat DME to 15 lbs total (so +5).

TaggTimm has agreed to take 15 lbs if we can close this bag (thanks TaggTimm!).

so that leaves 20 lbs to go. c'mon folks, time to brew some quick n' easy summer wheats! also great for a quick belgian or as a base for a sour. Bavarian Wheat DME is 65% wheat and 35% barley.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Everyone please start sending in your payments before FRI at midnight so I can put in the order first thing SAT AM. Since we will be 3 weeks out from pickup, we can still add to the order next week. After that I think it is probably impractical to add something, but I will try in a pinch. Again, I would not add anything that is not generic 2 row, pils, Cxx, etc. after this week as you are likely to be disappointed and we will have to go through some hassles to refund, etc.

Payments Received: 6/22
Payments Due: 16/22
Sheet has been updated with payments received as of the time/date of this post for full sacks paid to Tony.

Just paid my full sacks. Still reviewing the splits. I might jump in on some others so stay tuned!

I'll close out the remaining 10# RAH1008 Rahr White Wheat 50 lb

Done, thanks!

Alright, 15# for you, 15# for TaggTimm. 20# Bavarian Wheat DME left...

Hello DC folks, I'd like:

1x RAH1002 Rahr Standard 2-Row 50 lb

Also, I live in Charlottesville so I'm not sure I can get in on a split, but if it's possible I'd like...

5# PBW50 PBW 50 lb
15# Weyermann® Light Munich 25 Kg (55 Lb.)

Thanks to those putting putting this together!

All added. Tony picks up and holds it, as agreed.

There was no DME split yet. Just started a new Light Pilsen one, with 10# for you.

Current Status:
We're at 22 sacks, 5 of them open splits with 175# to go.

I'll take some of the Breiss DME Pilsen Light:

10# 3440C Briess DME Pilsen Light 50 lb

IMPORTANT UPDATES:

Payments Received: 17/23

Payments Due: 6/23

The sheet has been updated with all payment information as of the time/date of this post. Yes I am still severely jet lagged as I have been up for a couple of hours now after 3 hours rest...sigh!! Anyhow thanks to everyone who got payment out to me and for those who are still waiting to pay, please do so TODAY!

Also, thank you very much to everyone who puts their HBT moniker in the paypal notes area!! We have almost a 100 folks who participate in the buys, some I know VERY well by HBT moniker, some I sorta know, and the overwhelming majority I know when I see you but matching HBT name to face to real name just won't happen unless you are at almost every buy or one of the many I see outside of this buy as friends. So PLEASE make sure when you send that payment, you put your HBT name in so when I go update the sheet it is easier for me. I really appreciate it!!

Another note to ponder; Frits is getting a little overwhelmed by the splits after the initial buy closes. I think we are going to allow full sacks next week, but I want to close out all the splits this week and be done with it. Frits and I do spend a lot of our free time working out the logistics of all this and the recent change to allow us a greater chance to receive all grain ordered had a couple of unexpected consequences when we started to implement it. To keep this from becoming a full time job for us, please finish off the splits today and we will close that part of the buy. We will allow additional "normal types" of malt to be added in full sacks next week but nothing after that. The 3 weeks gives 3 Stars 3 chances to order grain, so if the wholesaler is out of a malt (or many!) one week but will have it the next week or the following, the new paradigm will help ensure we have a better chance of getting everyone's malt. Thanks for understanding!!

For everyone's peace of mind, I don't get overwhelmed, ever!
And the least so by the splits. I just don't like inefficiencies, such as shaky tallies, double collections and refunds when they can be prevented easily.

It's not fair to close the splits early (today) as many participants will be disadvantaged. There is plenty of time to fill those splits by next weekend. So that's what we're aiming at.

Added:
If someone wants to add a new split and tries to buddy up with a few brewers here to fill that by next Friday (5/1), please do so. The last MO split is good testimony for that, it filled in a bit over 2 hours. If splits fail to fill, they will be canceled, unless someone takes the balance.

I apologize for any confusion the 2 rounds of closing may have caused, it was a nifty idea, just won't work well for splits, we just noticed. Any splits that don't close and were prepaid, will be refunded when the final order goes in.

Frits
