Went on a fishing trip with my 2 brothers last month. We were playing cribbage at night. Anybody see the remarkable thing in this picture? It's really a once in a lifetime event (if that) for a cribbage player. It was my deal and crib, and I had a killer hand. But...

Nice! Congratulations. Very cool.

I have played the game my entire life, and I've never had three fives and a jack; I surely have not found myself waiting on the cut for the fourth five matching right jack. The cut had to be a "holy crap" moment.

I've played my whole life too. Yea, I knew something was up when that 5 came up and my other brother (not in the pic) started videoing with his phone. Getting the right suit on that 5 to match the Jack puts the odds into the stratosphere.

Getting that hand and still losing is pretty unlikely too, but have a look at the hand/crib I ended up with.

BTW, just watching that video, he goofed by leading with the 5, bad call. Clearly I couldn't pair it since he had 3 of them and the 4th was the cut card, but it would have been easy to hit a 15 on that (almost 4/13 possibility in fact). He should have led with the jack, since there's only a 3/52 chance I'd pair it and NO chance I'd hit a 15. But he was excited of course.

That may be why he won the battle but lost the war. You have to get hands to be competitive of course but pegging is where a lot of games are won or lost. All though 29 surely is a long stretch between pegs, tough to lose that game.

Great story that you and your brothers will talk about forever.

29!!!!!!!!!!!!! Legit!!!!!!!!!!!! Ive never seen it, or actually talked to anyone who has had it!

Imma here to tell you, it was legit. I dealt. And, though I'll admit I was drinking beers all day (fishing), I can shuffle a deck - been playing cards my whole life.

It was the real deal. I still find it hard to believe. I've been playing Cribbage my whole life.

Wow, it's been years since I played cribbage, but in my head I can still hear "15 one, 15 two..."

You've been cheating yourself then!! 15 two, 15 four.

Man, I miss a good game of cribbage. My grandfather taught all of us grandkids at a young age and I was never able to hold my own with him. He was awesome. Played in the weekly league since I could remember. The man even whooped my ass over while in his death bed.

Great hand! I've never seen one in a game.
