That sounds really cool! I'm guessing both were distributed in the same region so someone can buy both off the shelf and do their own side-by-side?

So far most collabs I had both breweries had a really wide foot print, so it was feasible to sample both. The hardest one for me was Mo Betta Bretta. I have access to Lost Abbey, but the other versions I had to track down. The label work done on them had a very similar theme, but they were different.
I think its really cool to get two takeaways from different breweries on their interpretation of a shared recipe.

Now that sounds like it would make a really good vertical sampling!

Indeed - I'll be looking to trade for the FFF and Surly versions. So when you guys see them hit me up for the Real Ale version...assuming I can get my hands on a decent amount.

I wish I could sneak one of those HotD vintage bottles out of there. They only have them for on-site consumption.

Me too! I get why they don't, but then again don't. Looking at that vintage list did cause me to add another beer, but I'm not sure if it will make much of a difference just yet.

Lol, I wanted to send something local :) Also, I would have sent you a few more extras but I didnt want to risk the beers you actually wanted breaking so I just used the wine bottle shipper I had. I hope you enjoy them.

Cheers!

When is the release?

From http://bitchbeer.org/2014/01/03/real-ale-three-floyds-and-surly-brew-up-collaboration/
Set to be released in all three breweries’ territories this spring.

Real Ale is planning to release the beer during South by Southwest in March, with Three Floyds and Surly likely planning releases in their territories during the same March to April time frame. As for release format, Real Ale’s Blakkr will be available in four packs of 12oz cans, Surly will release in their signature 16oz pounders and Three Floyds will be packaging in bombers.

Actually, I meant to put per oz. No such thing as a bomber of 3F for less than $10 really. I've had Real Ale down in Austin and it was regularly priced. Surly cans are usually right around the same as their others.

BTW, not complaining about pricing...
