I always thought the 90 days/100 posts was to ensure the member is actually an active part of the community here.

I would agree, if there is some positive feedback from trades and nothing that sticks out as fishy, it should all be good.

Personally that speaks more of the person than just if they've been here for 3 months and have 100+ posts.

Lol jk, I agree. I like our homebrew group. If you talk to other people about homebrewing, they gawk with glossy eyes like you make meth. Even other advocates, ahem, enthusiasts of craft beer will tend to side eye us. Here, we only get the discerning stink eye of our brethren.
Not to be exclusionary, au contrair: please come in and become one of us. We'd be happy to help you homebrew and perhaps even trade/maw. This is probably the best forum I've ever been on. Even trolls aren't that bad lol.

Anyway, no offense to anyone new, but I did the 12 beers of Christmas mega homebrew trade and the only person to stiff the group was someone who was allowed to participate despite not having these requirements I'm this maw thread. Not to say all newcomers are bad mojo, as there were several newbies in the 12 beers of Christmas and some came through. I just think it's a low level of security that we use to help weed out those who are here for instant gratification and not for a supportive community. Also not to say it's foolproof.

Anyway. I love you guys. I'm RDWHABing quite a bit this evening and I'm rambling.
I really should be looking for more for my list!

Alright fellows, after speaking with Key the rules will stay the same. I know it sucks that everyone who wants to participate and be a good participant cant join right away, but we have to keep some rules in place to protect all of us. Thanks for understanding.
