I got a LME "Golden Ale" kit for Christmas and this will be my first time brewing.
It's this kit:
http://www.hoptech.com/cart/cart.php?target=product&product_id=16183&category_id=260
The kit came with 7lbs of pale liquid malt, cascade hops for 60 mins and cascade for the last 5 minutes, Coopers yeast and priming sugar. But no grains.
Im thinking specialty grains might make a better beer but what kind should i add?
Do you think i should go with a different yeast that might be better or is coopers good?
Thanks:mug:

You could steep some Crystal 40, say a 1 1/2# in 150 degree water for about 1/2 hour. Makes a pale ale.:mug: Steep in about a gallon or gallon and a half . Try Bader Beer and Wine Supply's web site. The "Replicator" recipes they have are really good. Look at the "Hophead",It's a clone of McMeniman's Hammerhead.
