Hey there,
I was looking to pickup some more ball lock Corny's and....it looks like most everyone is either sold out or they are charging 50+ dollars for a single keg! I was hoping to buy some in bulk. It makes me a little worried when Northern Brewer , MoreBeer, and some of the kegerator shops don't have any kegs at all. AHS has individual kegs only at 50 buck a pop. Have we finally bought up all the old Pepsi kegs? At this rate I might consider switching over to plastic Sanke kegs. I think you can get new ones for something like 65 bucks.

I think that ball locks are becoming harder to find that pin locks. If space isn't an issue, you can always buy pin locks and convert them to ball lock fittings.

Good point! I wonder how they will fit in my keezer.

I recently bought a lot of 10 from a guy who has a warehouse full. The prices have been going up steadily the last couple of years and I figured the worst that could happen was I would be able to resell them for the same or better price.

You just need to spend a little time searching. Kegconnection has these B grades in stock. As for the supply with online distributors, it comes and goes.

Cornykeg.com has pin lock kegs in the clearance section for $14 plus shipping. I have some and the only problem is the plastic handles are very worn. They are pressure tested to 30 psi before shipment. A great deal and the shipping prices a very reasonable!!

Thanks for the kegconnections link!! I was a little concerned when some of the largest online homebrew shops didn't have any. Maybe it is a cyclical thing?

Kegconnection has a ton of ball locks right now. Just got my double faucet set up on Friday and Ben told me he had over 1000 in stock right now.

Please.. let's not start a rumor.

Um, I was in my LHBS the other day and bought their last corny for $40, they said the won't have them for a bit and their supplier is doubling their price on reconditioned ball lock cornys. Another LHBS, Northern Brewer, is also out. I'll be at Midwest Supply either today or tomorrow. I'm sure I'll get the same story there. Call it what you will, but I think 'shortage' is more accurate than 'rumor'.

I was at my LHBS last week in San Antonio, TX and they said the ball locks are getting harder for them to get in, but no problems with the pin locks.

When the time comes, I'll have no problem selling my ball locks for a profit and buying more pin locks. :mug:

I also bought a couple "B" grade kegs from Kegconnection. Both hold pressure with a little work. They are eaching missing one of the two handles, but I don't really care.

My LHBS said this was the last shipment for a while also. He said ball locks were in short supply. He used to get them from the Pepsi plant in town .
