It's way bigger than necessary.... maybe even way bigger than can actually be used? Can you actually get 50' of 5/8" copper coil sumberged in your kettle?
 
If wrapped around a pin lock keg, I figure it would be about a foot in height. That'll probably stick out of my wort, but it would be submerged if/when I start doing larger batch sizes.
