Hi:

I used to brew about 2 years ago but stopped. I´m starting again and I have a very newbie question. I have the Coopers Stout the Dark Malt Extract liquid and corn sugar. What are the recommended amounts to add of the Malt extract and corn sugar. Thank you for your answers.

So you have two cans of liquid malt? One is the Stout which is prehopped and one is Dark Malt? How much corn sugar do you have?

I have a 5 pound bag. The instructions only provide for sugar not when you want to use liquid malt extract. I have searche google and haven´t gotten a clear answer. Thanks guys for your answers.

Use about the same amount of extract as you would have used sugar (don't use the sugar). If you have a 3 lb can of LME, I think you should use all of it, as it won't store once opened.

Ok,the pre-hopped cooper's are 1.7kg,the malt extract cans are 1.5 kilos. The cooper's brewing sugar, brew enhancers 1 & 2,& light DME are all 1kg,or 2.2 pounds. So,did you go out & buy 5lbs of table sugar,or do you have one of the cooper's additions?

To make a 23 L batch you need the Coopers Stout mix can and 1 kilo of other fermentables. I have the directions right here, it says you can use white sugar, corn sugar, LME, or DME. If you want more fermentables to rais the OG for a higher ABV beer I'd recomend the malt extract, unless you prefer a dryer beer.
