I buy most of my ingredients from AHBS. They use EBC ratings on their liquid extracts. My Beersmith program uses SRMs. From what I've read, all I need to do is divide the EBC rating by 1.97 to get an estimated SRM.
AHBS' Amber LME has a EBC rating of 6. Which would give me an SRM rating of close to 3. According to my beersmith program, they have Amber listed at 12.5.
OK, here's the question, if I want a closer estimate to the color of my beer, should I change all the SRM's on Beersmith to match the converted ECB ratings at AHBS???
Thanks.
