I pulled my saison out of the cooler, took a sample, let it sit for a few days to warm up and let the yeast settle, and this happened. It tasted fine, so I went ahead and bottled it. I checked the bottles after a couple of days, and there does appear to be a white powdery layer on the top of my bottles that falls back in when I shake them.

I'm not really worried about the beer, from my reading this won't be the end of the world. My concern, however, is that my better bottle and my racking gear is infected after being in contact with this. Are there any precautions I need to take other than soaking in starsan to avoid cross-contamination?

Thanks

the saison may taste fine now, but it will definitely change (maybe for the better) the longer you give it. more of a concern is the possibility of bottle bombs tho as the infection will likely continue to eat some of the left behind dextrins

star-san may be enough on its own, but i prefer to use a strong cleaner (PBW, oxyclean) soaked hot over night first
