Yeah last release was an exception. People who showed up by 10:30 got their bottles if that gives you a perspective but I think that's the latest I'd go. Plus you're going to wait inline forever at that point... Get there early and enjoy the company ;)

Semi-related, but anyone wanna get down with some whiskey for beer trades tomorrow at OEC?

Need some summer crushers to bring to the cape in a couple weeks and would much rather just "liquidate" my booze stock towards some sweet cans or OEC bottles or whatever. EBCP, Willett 4yr rye, Willett 11yr bourbon, Orphan Barrels...that kinda ****.

Otherwise...

looks like I'm rolling to this one solo. Can you crack a couple beers in line or is that not kosher. Last time I was there I walked right inside and bought as many bottles as I wanted, guessing things have changed a bit

Yeah, bottle sharing seems to be "OK" at this point. Things got pretty deep last time; haven't heard any words otherwise from the powers that be.

Was that an actual "release"? I mean, on your average Saturday you can still casually stroll in just past noon and get what you need/want and roll right out. Bottle limits have been in place for the limited release stuff since the beginning.

However, they've recently begun to enforce a limit even on their "regular" bottles during releases. Not sure if that trend will continue through non-release Saturdays, though....but I guess we'll see (if they ever stop having limited releases).

-They only put limits on old bottles that have low counts.

-Ill be there @9.

Not entirely true. There's a limit on Phantasma Sour 2...it's new and there's plenty of it (relatively speaking).

But I catch your drift...

EDIT: Clarification from the horse's mouth: bottle limits have always been in place, just never "published", so to speak. OEC is constantly battling being cleaned out lately, so they're just now starting to post limits on everything....regardless of availability/newness/etc.

Sounds like I'm probably SOL for getting experimentalis with peaches by the time I get there at 4. Damn.

2 hours prior seems about the right time to get there? I imagine something akin to the old Captain Lawrence releases... is that close? Never been to an Experimentalis release before.

Were you up there? I went with a couple buds. We were up on the right side of the porch. Had a great time. Tons of great people up there.

Somebody left a 32oz growler of Beer'd porter in my cooler on Saturday. PM me and I can try to get it back to you

For me up to this point it's been true. I'm there so often, if I ever ask for 2 cases of something that was already released an earlier weekend, they don't care.

Nice to see New Haven make the #2 spot on the list!

If you think the previous sentence was in error, it was not, Chicago does not count. No one likes bread bowls filled with marinara, Chicago.

Chicago "pizza" can go **** itself

What are the three main breweries worth visiting up in Oxford? OEC, Black Hog and something else? Is it Stubborn Beauty I'm thinking of?

Also, is OEC only open on Saturdays now? I thought they used to be open Wednesday nights as well.

OEC is usually open for one Tuesday evening a month. Otherwise only Saturday.

OEC & Black Hog are the 2 breweries there. And Black Hog took over the space that Cavalry previously was in, if that was maybe what made you think of 3. Stubborn is in Middletown. Hit up Rich Dairy Farm for some ice cream to make the trio.

Has it come up yet either here or on the other board (which I check less and less) that there's a new Total Wine being built in Milford on Cherry Street across from the generically named liquor store over there next to Bob's Furniture?

What's the consensus on those stores? I know when the one in Norwalk or Stamford or wherever opened up, I was hearing a lot of things about how cheap they were selling beer.

their prices are low and their selection is pretty good. hopefully it puts the "fake total" out. I'm done with their garbage practices and pricing.

Yes, they're still selling $7.99 custom made 4-packs of Hag, despite that hag availability seems to be back to normal-ish. Went down the road to New England Beverage Company and bought a full six pack there for $8.99. Canned 7/29 - oof

Anyone hittin NEBCo for WTC cans today and OEC on Saturday?

Need dat Weiss Trash hookup bad.

Want some whiskey????

Gonna see if I can procure some WTC tomorrow, at the very least I should be able to cop some Galaxy !
If I succeed, I would be interested. Only have a few whiskey bottles on the shelf & they are all low.
