I have to skip this one... should be a good one too

The fact that I have to work 11:30-8 on Saturday sucks enough on its own, but that it's making me miss this or The Alchemist's truck sale just makes it suck that much more.

I'll be hittin' up that OEC Festivus thingy Saturday. Have been to that brewery numerous times, but never to one of their festivals. Should be fun.

Oh and concerning the SOS. Fairfield and New Haven counties will be SOL once it hits the state. Bummer

For those that have attended the Real Ale Fest at Bar, is it worth going?

I've always heard good things, but have never gone. $45 for two 5oz samples, then $1 for each additional sample this year.

The assumption is that SOS will have a different distributor for those counties, you just only need to have one distributor for the filing and that's why it says they won't be handling it in those two counties.

thats what i was thinking too

all i know is that they have had super fresh cask Gold Stock there before and i would kill a person for that

I went a few years ago and had a good time at the Real Ale Fest. There were some out of distro brewers such as Wormtown, which was nice, in addition to NEBCO, Willibrew, Hooker, other CT brewers operating at that time, NY breweries included Brooklyn, Southampton, maybe some others.

The proceeds go to charity, so it`s a bit easier to justify a kind of expensive ticket. And there was some pretty good live music, guessing that will be going down as well. It seemed that most breweries tried to have one "special" beer in addition to 1-2 standard offerings.

That makes it a bit easier on the wallet. Are the $1 samples also 5oz?

And DAMN I wish I could make it to the OEC event!

Looks like Smokebox in Hamden is serving beer now which is definitely good news. I ate there the other day and I'm pissed I can't get over there more often. Just spoke with Jason, one of the owners, and he has a couple of cases of Maine Beer Co. beers that just came in, including some Lunch!

I popped in last night, while I was waiting to pick up a pizza at Elis... Problem is they'll only serve you a beer if you buy food because of whatever their license is (or something like that).

Hmm, I'll have to ask about that and figure out what's up.

FBD @ Little Pub Wilton today. They just ran up to Ridgefield to grab the keg. Then it goes on.

Well, it looks like that one went pretty quick per their Facebook. It would be would have been nice to grab a glass this evening, but the rowdy Monday lunchtime drinkers of Wilton were especially thirsty today.

Damn! I was there for about an hour and had two pours. They were handing them out pretty steadily, but not in a crazy rush or anything. Can't believe it kicked that fast.

Last time FBD was released Little Pub only got a sixtel and it went quickly that day too. Some places get sixtels and some get half kegs, and since they probably got a small amount I'm not surprised the lunch crowd did some damage if there were only 40-60 pours to go around.

Definitely a sixtel. Saw the LP guy pulling the keg out of his backseat as I was walking in.

Interesting crowd. A lot of people had no idea what it was and saw that almost everybody else was ordering it.

So they ordered some too.

Likely to be $11 / 10 oz pour
