Anyone have recommendations for snagging some bourbon county variants this year? I figured I'd hit total wine since they're by the book. Some other places I asked said they probably won't release this Friday

Was just at Total like 10 minutes ago. Asked two of the beer stockers and they just shrugged. I know that they had a BCBS "release" last year, but don't recall the exact details.

I know that both the Coffee and Barleywine were kept "behind the counter" so you needed to ask for them assuming you knew to do just that. They didn't really announce that they had them.

Tricky.

They also said you can have one or the other and told my wife they were out of the coffee and when I stopped by after work I asked for coffee and got coffee... I hate TW...

Anyone got news of bars that plan on taping the new incarnation of BC Vanilla in CT ?

I've been told by several liquor store owners that only regular and coffee are currently in the state. I think vanilla rye and barleywine will be coming later like they did last year. What do I know though..

Just picked up a couple bottles of BCBS. Distributor was in the store, said CT didn't get as many variant this year. He did tell me, though, that CT got 10 cases of Vanilla Rye.

Well that's bad news. Do you know of that's for HDI and Dichello or just one of them?

I do not know. I was also told by another store (that had a Goose Island rep in earlier that day) that CT will be getting no coffee this year.

I was told the same thing by a number of store owners yesterday. I ended up going to Brewster DeCicco's (where they were doing a ticket system....also the only Decicco's store getting coffee or vanilla) and just missed out on the BW. Only the first 30-40 people ended up getting any coffee or vanilla.

At least I was able to buy as much of the regular as I wanted. There was still plenty of that remaining by the time the line had dissolved.

Yeah, I never really worry about that. Last year when I went to the store next to were I work and asked about getting BCBS they brought me out a 4 pack of the 2012. Bought that and then got some of the 2013 as well.

I was also there haha. Me and my buddy were the last two people to get barleywine and we missed out on coffee and vanilla as well.

There's still some regular ole BCS at Forest City in Middletown. I heard that the label for vanilla wasn't approved by CT but it sounds like that is BS. I also heard that CT will be getting a few cases of vanilla in bombers in a few weeks. That may be BS, too...

That's apparently the exact reason why Barleywine and Coffee were so delayed last year, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if it's why Vanilla hasn't come to the state yet.

On the other hand it looks like we're not getting any bottles of Coffee this year and Barleywine is way, way more limited than the last time around so I'm not holding my breath that Vanilla will show up in the state at all. Even if it does I doubt I'll be able or willing to track any down.

Have a few things happening at Prime 16 New Haven over the next few weeks. Hope some of you can make it.

FBD on tap at the Outer Space in Hamden at 4:45 if anyone missed it. They had a keg of 2013 BCBS on last Friday, not sure if it's still there.
Just saw that... actually have to meet someone in that area around 7. Might try to get there for 6:30. Hopefully it lasts that long. Never know what to expect with that beer. Once Max Burger had it and it kicked in 47 min or something, the next time they had it, it lasted several hours. Was able to have 3 of them that time. That being said, anyone hear if max burger has a keg this time around?
