I seem to be getting conflicting information about how much k-meta to use to sanitize a must and was hoping somebody with a little more experience could straighten it out for me :)

Pretty much every recipe I have come across suggests 1/4 teaspoon for 5-6 gallons.

The instructions on my packet say "Add 1/4oz (less that 1 tsp) in 10 gals to obtain 75 ppm of SO2"

My scales say that 1 level teaspoon is just barely under 1/4oz.

I don't have an SO2 test kit so I can't just throw all the conflicting information away and do it the right way...and advice?

Cheers

HW

You can work it out yourself if you convert your measurements to litres and grams. Remember that only half the k-meta is so2.

1 gram in 10 litres gives 50ppm.
