I cheated on my Chronical and went back to fermenting in Commercial Sanke kegs on my last 2 batches....

I just pitched my yeast into my boil kettle and put the lid back on this batch. No temperature control, no moving off the trub, no nothing.
In my defense, I was stricken by the plague and went from mildly stuffed up to bed ridden in about 3 hours during the brew day. Still will be an interesting experiment.
I still buy Busch Light by the case....
Do you use it in place of distilled water when you brew?
On occasion I get tired of my beer before I drink 5 gallons in the corny and might dump a few pints so I can brew the next batch,.

Sometimes I don't sanitize my thief before I take a hydrometer reading.
I almost always do, but sometimes my "sanitizing" consists of a quick dip in Star San followed by waving it "dry" in the air for a few seconds before using it.
There is more to sanitizing than that?

I guess I've been doing it wrong too...
Misery (or a questionable sanitation practice) loves company.
Yes, but the manufacturer recommendation for Star San is one minute of contact time, IIRC.I'm not so sure that's a questionable practice. There's a difference between clean and sanitized. I insure that the equipment is clean after use and dip or spray, depending on the item, with star san before use.

Not that many of us follow it, but chances are, if your gear is clean in the first place, you could probably get away without sanitizer 19 out of 20 times anyway.
I don't like saisons. I have tried several and just don't care for them. I do like Belgians though. I also don't care for most typical English yeasts.
I never said that I don't sanitize. I sanitize before use not storage.
Read a few posts before that one, you may understand then.
