24 hours at 30-35 will drop the yeast, but it'll take a couple days to drop the hop particles and form a nice compact layer on bottom. So, I tend to give it at least 3-4 days.

I usually only cold crash for 24 hours. A lot has settled by then. The rest settles fine in the keg while it's carbing up. When pulling the first beer from a new keg I usually dump the first half pint or so. That usually takes care of anything else.

Maybe I'm just lucky that I've not had a clogged beer line yet...

Regards,

Mark

3 days should give you noticably improvement for most yeasts. Of course, you don't need any special training to tell if a beer is nice and clear, right? There is a pretty wide range of floc times by yeast strain, so just watch how the yeast react. If it looks great a 3 days, go ahead and package it. If it's still got some haze, give it a few more days.
