What's the best way to add coffee

Cold brew ?
Beans in secondary ?
Coarse grind in secondary?

Never done it myself but my buddy dry hops whole beans. You end up with almost no color transfer into the beer but still get the coffee flavor

Any idea how much he adds?

2 to 4 ozs whole beans in 5 gallons. No need to crush, the beans will readily give up their flavor. We only crush/grind beans to extract the flavor in a few minutes in the coffee maker.
