Hey all,

So I got a homemade kegerator off of craigslist in lieu of making one myself. It's a standard sanke setup, but it has everything for that.

I also got myself a corny keg an two disconnects (And new O-rings) from the LHBS. I think I understand pretty much everything so far but the gas disconnect they gave me doesn't quite fit right-- it's a little loose in the tube, even when I tighten a hose clamp pretty hard.

Both disconnects have the same size barb. I've read that the 'standard' gas tube is a bigger size. Do I need a bigger size gas disconnect? It seems like I do.

Sorry, I don't have any indication of the sizes of any of my tubing or anything. All I can tell you is that the gas tube is bigger than the liquid tube.

Yes the gas line is probably 5/16" while the barb on the disc is 1/4". You won't find a disc with 5/16" barb. However you will find a disc with 1/4 MFL threads. So then you would also get a 1/4 FFL to 5/16" barb . THen the connect then by threading together.

Or you could just replace the gas line with 1/4" line. If you have trouble getting the 1/4" gas line on the regulator 5/16" barb, stick the gas line end in boiling water for 20 sec. Goes on air tight, but you can put a clamp for security sake.

Ah.... -that- is why the woman at the LHBS said I might have to boil the water and stuff to get it on. I'm not a plumber but I know that a properly-sized barb will not be difficult to get on a barb. I'll get some 1/4" line. Thanks for the answer!
