Cleared a gallon of cider with bentonite as SK didn't work well. Had it sitting outside in carport.

It's been hovering around freezing so great for cold crashing and dropping clay and yeast out of suspension. Well. I forgot to wrap it last night and temps dipped.

Half frozen. So much for that crystal clear loveliness. It was the best cider to date.

Suspect it'll be fine as it's aging and not fermenting. Yes?

you could also intentionally do this and make some apple jack. This is basically freeze distilling the cider where you separate the ice from the cider and are left with a much more potent liquor.

I think he has already made applejack in the past.

Just a note, cider is not the best start for applejack imo. A sweet wine is a much better place to begin for a good tasting applejack.

Thanks but his is not an apple jack cider. Tastes too damn good on its own and it's not enough ABV but good call though.
