On Saturday i did a black rock cider kit with 1kg of sugar & also added 10 pulped apples as am hoping it would make the cider cloudy.

There isnt any visable fermentation signs (airlock bubbling, foam) like i get with beer but know this doesnt mean its not doing anything.

When i took a sniff it made my eyes water so am hoping this is a good sign and the gravity today was 1034?? Maybe i just need to be more patient but havent done a cider before.

Also the yeast was sprinked on the apple pulp so would this make a difference to fermentation?

Thanks for the reply.

The starting gravity was around 1040 so has dropped slightly but not much.

Am planning on taking another reading on the weekend to determine if its fermenting or stuck.

If its the same is there anything i can do? I have another packet of cider yeast.
