In an experimentation with hard apple cider and citra hops. The smell is amazing! I took a tiny sample, and even after an hour the flavor is great! Kind of like a sweet apple ipa! Can anyone recommend and other kind of hops that go well with cider?

Woodchuck has come out with Hopsation (really good BTW) and they use Cascade. Did you dry hop the cider? In your secondary?

More details please.

I am getting ready to dry hop a cider I have aging now. It was made with S-04 and sugar. O.G. 1.080

I was inclined to use Citra or Simcoe but all my reading says Cascade. My uncle (a home brewer) prefers Brewers Gold. I'm so confused.

I added the hop pellets to thy he end of secondary fermentation, which kick started the bubbles again.

Rather than be confused why don't you make a few batches using different hops. The kinds of flavors you might want to blend with the cider should influence your choice of hops. A New Zealand variety of hops called Nelson Sauvin can add a kind of sauvignon wine flavor to cider. IMO, you cannot make a mistake but some varieties of hops will enhance your cider and some may dominate it and perhaps need further aging or blending to make the cider more enjoyable..

Does it matter if you use whole hops or just the leaves like they sell at Midwest Supplies?
