I'm doing a kit that calls for me to top off the fermenter will cool water to equal five gallons , could I add filtered ice to help bring my wort pitching temp ?

Unless you're freezing boiled water in sanitized containers, your ice will be exposed to contaminants in the freezer. Also, you'll have a harder time hitting the correct volume with ice because it is less dense than liquid water.

Thanks for the help bros , we didn't need the ice after all , we made a cheapo submersion chiller and it dropped it from 210 to 80 in 30 mins woooooooo!!!!!! Very very highly recommended to build a wort chiller , got an idea off you tube to hook up an extra hose an a sprinkler the the hot side used the water for the yard :)
