So I decided that the original Resin recipe from wubears71, waffle418, and Reeves (according the the link below). From what it sounds like on that post wubears71 formulated the recipe, so he should get the credit.

So, what do we think should be tweaked to transform this Resin clone recipe to a Hi Res Clone

I'm thinking adding some amarillo or upping the cascade will give the extra grapefruit taste that I pickup at the end of the high res (but not so much in normal resin)....

I also detect some added 'hard candy' flavor in there.

thoughts?

What do you think of adding El Dorado hops for extra IBU and candy-like flavor?

EDIT: I would replace the Nugget entirely with El Dorado (~15% AA), and I think your IBU will come out near-perfect. Maybe use some to dry hop, also.

I had never even heard of el dorado before, but after doing some research I think they sound perfect. I also agree that they should replace the other high aa nuggets

I'm glad you agree! Keep us updated, can't wait to hear how it turns out!

I'd imagine the grain bill should be kept at the same proportions, assuming 90% brewhouse efficiency can be obtained:

13.94 lb 2-row

2.46 lb Caramel/Crystal 20

0.72 lb Caramel/Crystal 40
