i am so so sorry for your loss. i have become really attached to my buddy and fear losing him eventually. she is beautiful and maybe its the perspective but she looks like a beast with those paws. know that you gave her the best life she could have .

Fair enough... Funnily enough, that's actually what we call it. When we first bought the house, the patio wasn't screened in but we did it with the cats in mind. They have to be the most spoiled little sh**s in the world lol.

My wife texted me that stupid doves were trying to nest on the support beam for our back patio. I assumed that was a bad idea.

Been awhile. Cats are good. If anyone out there has an otherwise healthy older cat that’s diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, I strongly encourage radioactive iodine therapy. It’s a tricksy ordeal to deal with, but the tiger is definitely still tiger-ing. Been a bit under two and a half years since his shot.

Edgar is still a colossal bum. We gave him some feliway diffusers a year or so ago and he’s not nearly as bothered by outside cats.

The girls are terrors. But they like each other. I’m almost forty and have had cats my entire life and these are the first that actually seem to like each other. Although Edgar does seem to be okay with Margaret. Margaret is brown and Zelda is the torty.

It's been about 10 years since we last had cats. When the last one was gone my wife and I said "no more cats, no more litter boxes". That was before this little guy shows up running in and out of the garage while I was working in the yard. No idea where he came from or where his mother is. With the weather turning colder we couldn't let him out to fend for himself. Estimate him at 6 to 7 weeks old. Just over 1 pound. We now have a new addition to the home.

This one will be a bit long, so skip to the question at the end if you want to.

We've had cats the entire time we've been together (24 years this year). At last count we've been owned by seven (we have two boys right now). All of them have been the goodest kitties. I'll post some pics later. However, there's always been an issue; the husband refuses to touch the litter box. Says the smell makes him puke, but suggest getting rid of the cats (or send them outside, nope nope nope won't do that since two of our previous boys lost their lives to some jerk's loose pitbull, also we have coyotes here) and he will shut up. However, the smell does get to us. I do what I can but it gets away from me sometimes. So this week we plunked down about $230 on an automated box. It got here today, and hoo boy is this thing fun. Both cats have used it, no issues, and no smell. Very little noise too. And like everything else in our lives, it has an app (of COURSE it has an app). Me thinks I'll spend the next day at the office just staring at it, waiting for my boys to make a 'deposit'. The older one would pee in the old box for the first day after cleaning it out, but as soon as there was more than a few clumps he would pee on the carpet. He's used it three times since it got here about 2pm, and seems okay with it. The younger one (who was born feral, and has the very debbil in him sometimes) has never had an issue with a dirty box, will use it no matter what; and he likes the new box too. We did a ton of research before settling on the one we got (will post link below), focusing on safety for them. BTW don't google what can happen to cats in a forward-rotating automated box, it's ghastly. This one rotates to the side, is disturbingly quiet, and has plenty of safety features (sensors and such) so it won't move if something is nearby or enters it. As of now, I'm happy, they're happy, the husband is happy, and I have something new to entertain me. We also got it to keep our older dog from eating kitty roca (yuck).

Anyway. Question to yall, how many of you have a litter robot (or a cheaper Amazon knockoff), and what are your opinions?

I was skeptical as all hell of the litter robots when my wife brought it up like five years ago. My mom had an auto box when I was younger, but it was one of those rake types that just sucked. We had three cats when my wife got the first LR and scooped boxes every other day (usually me). After about four days, I told her we needed a second one. So we have two litter robots (I think the third generation) now, and four cats. I don’t think I could ever go back to a regular litter box. It’s that convenient and it means there’s always a clean box for the cats. They are expensive, stupidly. But they’re amazing, especially in a multiple cat household
