Just cracked my first batch. Gave a couple to my neighbor and he immediately said "This tastes just like Bass Ale." Now, I've never had Bass, so wouldn't know. Would any of you who have brewed Caribou Slobber compare it to Bass?
Well, he IS a BMC drinker, so who knows. Maybe he was just dredging his memory to come up with something to compare it to. Since I've never had either, until two days ago...when I first tried my CS...I have nothing to compare it to. I know I screwed up the cooking a tad and only ended up with 4 gals vs 5, so I wonder if that would have made the difference? If it is, happy coincidence; if you want a Bass clone, according to my neighbor's taste buds, just short your CS by 1 gal LOL.
Anyway, I'm glad to be drinking the first fruits of my labors. I've got one more batch of CS in the secondary and I'm sitting here waiting for a La Petite Orange to cool down from it's boil.
