Hello everyone first time post!
I've recently started my second or third dj of wine and I have some have me down equipment and obviously can get much new stuff at the moment. Anyway to keep a long story short, I started my primary fermentation in a carboy and should have not put the full amount of water in it to start, but in my inexperience, I did. Needless to say it bubbled over, I was expecting it though and was about to set up a hose to another container to throw out.
However as you can see on the picture, right at the top of carboy under the neck, the solid-ish purple color stuff is what I'm curious about. I don't know what it is, probably yeast, grape juice and stuff, but should I be worried about it does it need to be cleaned?
Thanks!
