Probably coincidence, but maybe, just maybe Ismellweird has something to do with this brew at the MN state fair.

Cake beer - check
Kato - check
Geographic location - close enough to wonder.

Cake’d Up Celebration Beer

Yes, a lightly hopped ale with a deep-fried vanilla cake flavor, from Mankato Breweryin Mankato. 5 percent ABV.
The Hangar (Murphy Av. and Underwood St.).

@Jayjay1976 guess who finally made it... Maybe.

Ok, probably not, but maybe. Just, if everyone can find it in that mash tun you call a heart to not oxidized my theory on "weird-beer" too quickly. I don't really need your dissertations on how you know the brewer and the name comes from the Native American word for whatever. Dont pop the bubble yet.

No one named "Mell" on the "about us" page. It also says "Mankato Brewery started producing beers in 2012". That's a mhell of a coincidence though. If we see ol' mell in this thread, I'll bet he's pissed and will claim that they stole his beer ideas after reading his HBT threads.

No 'Bait n Switch Watermelon Ale'
No 'Front Porch Pressure Treated barrel aged porter'
No 'Brown Trout Cupcake Kolsch'

I think someone is trying to rip Smelly Melly off.

I live only 10 miles from the MN fairgrounds, but wasn't planning to go this year. Maybe I should go. Cake beer? You betcha!

Mankato Brewing makes some decent brews, BTW.
