Looking at buying a 60# bucket of honey at $2/pound, running a total of $120. I've tasted the honey recently, and it seems to be quality, but I'm wondering if it's a solid enough deal.

Whatcha think?

Cheers,
Chuck

If it's standard wildflower, clover or alfalfa honey, then it's an average deal and worth the money. If it's a varietal honey of any kind then it's a good deal.

I can get "wildflower" (mystery) honey for $1.79/lb, and it's fine on toast, but it takes a long time for it to mellow in fermentations, much longer than a varietal like clover. I'd use a good varietal if I were you. At $2/lb, a good varietal is a good deal, if it's "wildflower" honey, I'd pass. Regards, GF.
