Started a little thread for this. I know its not in the right section, but no one looks in the "group buy" section for honey.

I'm still in the middle of figuring out WHEN this could happen, but just wondering if anyone was interested. The more the better an cheaper.

I have an awesome amish friend that will hook me up and add on to their big order, if we can get a large enough amount to make it worth their time.

I'm waiting on a call back from them in the next few days to get more info. ( varieties, when harvested, ballpark price/lb)

Anyone around here wanna bulk up? Id love to get a few 50gal barrels of honey!!!

Remember, the more the better! I'll keep y'all posted!

My office is downtown on Walnut. I'm in if the price is right.

I hope we can get for sure a few hundred lbs or i don't think they would be willing to send off for a new batch as soon as we would like.

Price is whats important (to me anyway). Would there be a minimum for people to purchase? or would it be a cumulative total? I'd definitely be interested in a gallon or 2 if the price is right. I'm sure it would be much tastier then the walmart brand. I'm subscribing to this. Keep me informed.

I am in for minimum of 5 max of 10 gallons (again depending on price). I can get orange blossom honey 5 gal/60 lbs for about $188 delivered to the door. If I could get 10 G of a good honey for something like $275 or $300 then I'm in it to win it.

I'd be in for 3 5 gallon buckets if the price is good..... Thanks for doing this! Much appreciated!

I live just south of Boston so if there is anyone interested in the local area in doing a group pick up and splitting gas let me know....

Subscribing... I'd love to do a mead, and I was thinking I'd like to start with an orange blossom honey.
I live in York, so it wouldn't be that bad a trip for me.

Where can you find that Orange Blossom for $188 delivered?

Dutch Gold can have UPS leave a bucket of orange blossom on your front porch for about $145.

BTW - I've bought some excellent honey (meadowfoam, lavendar, basswood, etc) from reputable apiaries on Ebay.

Like a 2-3 gal bucket? No way you're getting 5gal for $145!! Hell if that's the truth and you're getting 5gal for $145, we are wasting our time I think...

Wow just found it. $149 for 5gal orange blossom honey.

Good call... Hopefully it's cheaper... Guy still hasn't called me back

Another option for anyone in the Philly area is an apiary in Monroevill, NJ called fruitwood orchards. http://www.fruitwoodorchardshoney.com/

They have 60lb pails ranging from $155 for wild honey to $217 for Tupelo. Its not a bad drive from Philly, and another excuse to hit up Monster Beverage or Canal's!

If you're in Lancaster on a weekday, you can pick up a full 5 gallon bucket at their store for $116. Otherwise, you can pay UPS to deliver it for about $30 more. They also sell 55 gallon drums. Not sure if the cost saving would be worth it.

"Dutch Gold Walk-In Store Hours are Monday thru Friday, 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M."

I believe honey prices have increased in recent years. About five years ago, an apiary in my area would fill a 5 gallon bucket for about $70. I don't recall any huge increases, but every year the price seems to go up a little more.
