Sucre? Not Cuivre?

Has anyone had any of this current months allocations? I need more beer like I need a hole in the head but I essentially joined to get the sours....but I'm so cautious on buying anything at this point. Hotty with Peaches sounds primo...but that whole thing happened last year with Mangos.

scuttlebutt in the slums is that m12 is boring and a worse grey monday, flanders is ok, and H w/ P is rly good

I really like M12 and GM, while they both have hazelnuts, they are distinct beers. I haven't tried HwP, I was hoping it would have been on tap. I was not very impressed with Flanders Giant.

Tasting room email just got posted. I can't wait for the Mash & Grind!

Howdy Bruery Friends!

Sunday is Fathers Day and we all know what he wants for his big day - some Bruery beer and a couple friends and family to share it with. We're open all weekend so bring your dad on by for a pint!

1. Meet The Bruer. Tonight, Thurs., June 18, we'll have a brand new cask from our Meet The Bruer series. This time around the Tasting Room will welcome one of its own: bartender Adam F. He'll pour a creation of his own making: CranSlam, which is a blend of cranberries, grapefruit zest and Mischief, our Belgian golden strong ale. We'll be tapping the cask at 5:30 p.m. and Adam will be around at the same time to pour out beers for the rest of the night. Don't be surprised if you get a high-five or a hug every time you order this brew - that's just how Adam rolls.

2. Fathers Day Fun. This Sunday we'll be upping the Fathers Day ante with an archive keg of one of our favorite sours of all time: Melange #9. It's a sour blend of our base sour blonde ale, Sour in the Rye and White Oak Sap. Coconut and fresh ginger were added to the blend just a few days before packaging, generating a super fresh, tropical spice. That brew will be part of our $1 donation drive, in support of the National Teen Leadership Program. We'll be limiting pours of that brew to one per person to give an opportunity to everyone to get some, but we expect it to run out quickly.

3. Reserve Society Specials. Don't worry RS folks - we haven't forgotten about adding in a little Fathers Day flair for you as well. On Sat., June 20, we'll be busting out a couple kegs of Mash & Grind to fill up your 32 oz. growlers. Hopefully this will make for a fun Sunday Fathers Day for all!

4. Food Trucks. We have a jam-packed weekend of food trucks to complement all of the events we have going on.

  • Thurs., June 18: Porko Rico will be stopping by with their hog-centric grub.
  • Fri., June 19: GD Bros burger truck will be around from 5:30 to close to feed the hungry masses.
  • Sat., June 20: we have a double header with The Bite Truck in the afternoon and the Viking Truck in the evening,
  • Sun., June 21: Baby's Badass Burgers will begin around 1:00 p.m.
5. Upcoming Events. We have a couple fun events going on this upcoming week that we want to give you a heads up about.

  • Tues., June 23: our house band Daddy Says will be defending their LA Beer Week Battle of the Bands title at the Echo in Hollywood. Tickets for that are still available and we would appreciate all the support we can get!
  • Thurs., June 25: join us for our latest mocktail night. The tiki inspired mix will come in its very own custom Bruery tiki mug. We'll be selling the mocktails and glassware for that event starting at 5:30 p.m. so make sure to circle that date on your calendar.

Hit up the bruery today. Boy was i unimpressed. No Humulus lager? I had 2 smoking wood deviants (blueberry, coffee), Smokey and the bois, the cola beer, and So happens its tuesday w/vanilla and cherry. Ol' DDB then bought me a pour of Flanders Giant (how is that Hoarders only LOL) and Melange #12. Melange #12 wasn't what I was expecting. I thought that it would have a lot more Hazelnut.

What kind of beers do you normally drink? Have you had bottles of their other offerings more widely available? (Lokal Red, Mischief) I just want to get a sense of what you've had of theirs. There are lots of beers on the menu that change seasonally. They are pretty adventurous and some can be acquired tastes. I took a friend here once and had the same reaction.

I myself am not a fan of the sours of any kind. I understand. The new Ride That Pony was one of my favorites, though I didn't like the L'deracola at all. I keep going back for the Freckle and the Chronology 6 RS32 fills. I didn't like the Chronology 6 when it first came out though, now I can't get enough. All I can say is that palates can change.

Do you like sours at all? I find their traditional sours to be very good (SITR, Sans, OT w/cherries).

I like a few saisons, but I normally don't drink any sours. I have had other breweries versions with friends and it's just not for me. I do try The Bruery's sours periodically when I'm out with my friends and they are not appealing. I give most of my sour allocations to my friends who like them, and they are very grateful. I respect the beer and what it takes to make them. I do like pretty much all of their other beers with a few exceptions. Thanks for asking! How did you acquire a flavor for sours?

Don't try too hard to "respect beer." That's not how we roll around here.

I got into sours slowly but surely. Started with tosh strongly recommending Supplication and it just went from there. Some people just don't have a taste for sours though.

pls someone tell me if i want melange 12 and flanders giant. i will 10 out of 10 times go for bt/cr/gm/etc over anniversary ales.

No Humulus lager?

I don't get up there often but the past 3 times Ive rolled through town and picked up membership bottles, they haven't had Humulus on tap. They did an event down in North Park at Polite Provisions and they had it on tap there...but it had seriously been a LONG time. That is still my favorite Bruery beer but I'm most definitely a hop head. Humulus Palm amirite dontdrinkbeer

This has been a growing complaint that I have had with the tasting room recently. I have not seen Humulus Lager on draft since February and it has not been available for growler fills in months.

The HS32 growlers are invariably always like SMOKING WOOD COFFEE or something to that tenor and it has been pretty consistently disappointing on this front.

It is summer, it is hot. I am entitled to Humulus lager and its various iterations, because reasons, immediately.

I'm going to #NewMoney it and say that the HS32 should entitle me to a fill of ANYTHING on the board

"AH MAN ALL THE BLUEBERRY SMOKING WOOD IS GONE"

"yeah starraptor showed up, used his h32 growler basically as a big cup, tried to use the plasma TV as a giant ipad, fell asleep in the grain silo, dont bother him. Anyway, is there anything else I can get you?"

"I guess a H32 fill of Sourubro will have to do-"

Rumor has it the newest batch is going through its last diactyl break.

If the opening of Terreux contributes to humulus being a 24/7/365 draft offering several other local breweries are going to see double digit drops in market share.
