What's going to be even weirder is when they cap the allocation for RS/HS on that beer to 1-2 bottles while PS gets second chance offers like with BT.

Don't care that PS is getting this. Roble Blanco was the best new beer of the year. Roll on, Limoncello version.

Lol oh man, Roble Blanco is a contender for worst beer this year. I can make a pretty convincing copy by blending a bottle of Corona that's been sitting open for a day with some cheap margarita mix.

Sure am glad they decided to bottle some fruited Hottenroth variants, Berazzled, and other drinkable blonde sours that people love.

Oh, wait.

There must have been some pretty significant bottle variation there -- your description does not slightly resemble the RB I had. Or, you know, personal taste and all that.

So wait, this is real?

Both mystery beers are sour beers that are supposed taste like other **** we choose beer over all the damn time? And after they are already making some other cocktail "inspired" beers? and likely for $20+/bottle?

So after previous year's mystery beers (Chocolate Rain, Grey Monday, White Chocolate, Wanderer, etc) we get margarita and limoncello knock offs?

i'm running out of defenses for the Bruery, i do not think it was a coincidence that **** and this other mystery beer weren't discussed until after memberships were sold.

I am confuse

I think when they did the voting for the cocktail beer they née they would make Ll of them, but only the winner would be an exclusive? No idea but very disappointing that they are making so many cocktail knockoffs.

So glad I got out. I am completely over the whole "HERE'S A BEER THAT TASTES LIKE SOMETHING THAT'S NOT A BEER!!!!!11" thing. If I wanted to drink limoncello I'd ******* drink limoncello. Same with all the other inane "cocktail-inspired" beers. I want beers that are actually interesting takes on the flavors that beer can develop, which (in my experience) the cocktail things just flat-out aren't. I guess we'll see but I'm not optimistic.

Honestly.... honestly .... I think they are just completely out of ideas. I don't know if they feel like they need to come up with x number of new labels/ideas every year to keep people interested but it's backfiring (or maybe not, but it's not working for me). But chasing already existing flavors and endless adjuncted blends is something to do on a tasting-room level, not stringing along several hundred (thousand?) of your biggest fans with expensive experiments that don't fill any want/desire we have. a ******* margarita beer? a ******* MARGARITA BEER?!

how about honing some of the beers you already have to make them great instead of good? How about putting effort/resources into listening to some of the longest held requests for things like smaller bottle formats, easier shipping, or more funky beers instead of dumping time, money, and hope into ******* limoncello beer? Jesus i feel like i'm 12 and just opened socks for christmas.

man, i'm usually first in line to vouch for the bruery, but they are making it really hard lately. I really appreciate the hand-written note thanking me for my membership, but how about a beer that i actually want to drink and am willing to pay $25 bucks to ship it across the damn country.

Wait, they discussed ****? when? where?

I thought I had heard something about the mystery beer being Salted Caramel ****

probably was, probably soured.

I wouldn't be surprised if these weren't the planned mystery beers but were throw-ins when other **** failed. but obviously i have no idea, it's possible they're just being that dumb.

How about we try the beer before bashing them? I really just think that The Bruery can't win. Had they released another BT variant(or **** variant) people would be bitching that they're just releasing diabetes in a bottle. They're releasing sours and there's complaints about them being underwhelming surprises. Fwiw I think things like Berazzled, Fruited Hottenroth and more BT variants should be released but I didn't sign up for the mystery beers. If I don't want them or think they're gonna be trash I simply won't buy them. It's not like I'm getting ripped off by them, I am still getting everything I paid for when I first signed up.

I don't mind still joining the society (i mean, split with 3 other people!), as i still really enjoy the BT variants and a couple of the sours are worth it, and for less than $200 for the year it's not too bad to get all of that i want. but i'm "out" as far as ordering a bit of everything and having big monthly boxes of this ****. Sending them $100-300 bucks a month is long gone, most months I don't order anything.

Also: rumblings that the M10 blending session resulted in some kind of Mexican chocolate stout, probably

I am not that butthurt over them finding inspiration in cocktails to make new beers. Its just a phase...I hope. These are new beers right? Not just leftover **** noone wants that they are blending and adding adjuncts to?

If they release a beer that has any familiarity to hunahpu, I will give them my own personal standing ovation. As long as it doesnt go sour, funky or fermented with their house belgian strain.

dude, it's a limoncello beer.

I still re-upped RS for next year so fingers are crossed. This year kind of feels like it was ****** from the get go and then they just mailed it in.

Technically limoncello is a liqueur and not a cocktail, but yeah, super confusing.

smaller bottle formats and more funky beers aside (which i totally agree with and wish they did), what is difficult about the bruery's shipping process? i asked PMR a while back in some thread on the other site and he said that if they could ship out of california, they would, but they're constrained by the law.

dude, it's a limoncello beer.
So? I personally think it sounds interesting. But even if I thought it sounded like ass I wouldn't complain. I think Wanderer sucks and didn't complain last year. I didn't sign up for mystery beers. If they don't sound appealing to me I don't spend the money(likely $20-25) and I don't buy it.

My biggest concern with a limoncello sour is that limoncello is a pretty sweet liqueur so we're probably looking at another 13%+ sour beer. I guess they figured out something to do with all that infected white oak sap?

Question for the Hoarders: what would it take to land WII and/or Befuddlement? Would some de Garde and '14 Darkness get it done? I know WII was a max of five and Befuddlement was eight, yes?

I'd trade befuddlement for deGarde all day. I don't have my befuddlement in hand yet, nor have I tried it, but I'd still make the trade all day. [Insert shoulder shruggy emoticon]

I thought Wineification wasn't very good so I'd let it go for De Garde easily. Unfortunately all the WII I have already has a home.
